Cocktail Friday | The Sparkling Pear

I don't know about you, but when I think of this time of year, I think celebration. And nothing says celebration like champagne! I always love pairing flavors of various seasons with sparkling wine or champagne. The unique and light flavor of the pear is so delightful with a season associated with a lot of heavy, rich food, and I think the Sparkling Pear may be my personal cocktail of choice this New Year's eve.

2 oz pear brandy
1 1/2 oz elderflower liqueur
top of the glass with chilled champagne or sparkling wine
optional - rim the glasses in sugar for extra sparkle

Dip rim of glass into simple syrup or lemon juice and sugar, if desired. Pour pear brandy and elderflower liqueur into glass and stir. Then top with chilled champagne or sparkling wine of choice.
