Cocktail Friday | Strawberry Gin Mash

Summer is just starting to wind down, and I look forward to coming up with fall cocktails, but I'm grasping unto the last few weeks of the season for a couple more warm weather drinks. This week, I'm including a summer fruit.

I made two versions - one as a cocktail on ice and one with added vanilla ice cream. Yum!

2 1/2 oz gin
1 oz elderflower liqueur
1 oz strawberry sour mash (alternative: muddle 3 strawberries, add a shot of whiskey)
1/2-3/4 oz simple syrup
1 strawberry
sparkling water
a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream (optional)

Muddle a strawberry in a shaker.

Add gin, elderberry liqueur, simple syrup, and strawberry sour mash to shaker. After adding ice, shake. Pour into glass and top off glass with sparkling water.

Add ice if you prefer a drink or vanilla ice cream if you'd like a dessert.

Enjoy your cocktail Friday! Cheers!
