The Tides Beach Club
A couple of weeks ago I was invited to a mixology class at The Tides Beach Club in Kennebunkport, Maine. The Tides, built in the late 19th century, boasts stunning views of Goose Rocks beach, the kind of view that makes you hesitant to ever leave the comfort of the inn's porch chairs.

The interior of the inn provides a stylish, though relaxed, beach vibe, perfect for the coast of Maine.
The bartender, Ben, presented several delicious cocktails for us to taste. One of my favorites included a jalapeño-infused tequila, made by Ben. My dad's family is from Arizona and New Mexico, so I grew up on hot, spicy food and I've always been a fan of jalapeños. Even so, I was apprehensive of tasting jalapeños in a drink. Just sounded odd. However, I was quickly won over. It ended up being my favorite.
I came up with my own jalapeño cocktail, which I call Spicy Strawberry Margarita.
Spicy Strawberry Margarita:
1 1/2 oz tequila
1 oz Cointreau
1/4-1/2 oz Williams Sonoma Jalapeno-Lime Cocktail Mixer
1/2 oz simple syrup
3/4 oz sweetened lime juice
Muddle strawberry in the cocktail shaker. Add ice and remaining ingredients. Shake vigorously. Pour into a chilled glass and add a strawberry for garnish.
It is a delicious, spicy treat! Hope you enjoy it, too.
