Simple Tradition

It's a simple tradition, but probably my favorite of the season. The choosing and cutting down of the Christmas tree.

Searching the farm

With every Thanksgiving weekend, you will find us on the search for our Christmas tree. It isn't usually a huge outing. Just a day out at a local farm.

"When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things - not the great occasions - give off the greatest glow of happiness." - Bob Hope

Cutting down our tree

Waiting to have our tree wrapped

A trip to the Christmas tree farm wouldn't be complete without a cup of hot cocoa, to take a moment to chat.

Later this week, I will post my tree all decked out and the other Christmas decor, sprinkled throughout my house. As for now, I've got to take care of some of my kids, down with the flu. It has spread like wildfire through the lot of us. But what holiday season would be complete without a family cold or flu epidemic?

  1. I love that time of the year when my son and I go and pick our Christmas tree - it's a lovely tradition. It's so nice that you got to have a little break by the fire - not something I'm likely to find here... Hope your kids recover soon. xo

  2. Madesmoiselle - Thank you! I'm hoping they recover very fast, and that I don't get it! I don't know if you and your son have picked up your tree for this year or not, but if you haven't hope you have a wonderful time! It is such a fun thing to do!
